I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Certified Hypnotist who specializes in individual, couples and family therapy with persons or family members overcoming physical or emotional chronic health issues, in addition to providing individualized hypnosis sessions.
With over 15 years having been a Therapist and as a graduate of California State University at Long Beach, I am currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients including teens, children, adults, couples, and families.
In addition to being a seasoned Therapist, I have been an active voluteer speaker for the Multiple Sclerosis Society for their Newly Diagnosed Seminars, facilitate yearly 8 week support groups, and I am a contracted Therapist under their Free Emotional Wellness Program. This program provides 6-10 individual free therapy sessions to eligible individual, couples or families. You can contact your local MS chapter representatives for more details. I am passionate about helping others make sense of this disease.
I am an interactive, solution-focused, cognitive therapist. My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
I attended California State University Long Beach, and completed my Bachelor's in Social Work (BSW) and minored in Criminal Justice. I then continued my education and received my Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), specializing in children, youths, adults and families. Since graduating, I have had the privilege to work with various ages, social, ethnic and culturally rich clients. I have held a variety of clinical and administrative positions in adult & child out patient mental health clinics, psychiatric hospitals, day treatment programs, and court mandated drug, alcohol & mental health services.
After years of working in the nonprofit and for profit mental health field, I continued my professional growth and received my License in July of 2010. I am now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a thriving private practice in Huntington Beach, California.
In January of 2010, I completed my certification to become a Hypnotist through the International Hypnosis Foundation. I look forward to continuing my certification process and attending more trainings.
I continue to learn and grow personally and professionally and frequently attend new trainings yearly.
